DAWN SMITH Biography Dawn Smith has been a modern surrealist painter and Tattooist, working since 2000 in both the Detroit and Ann Arbor areas. Since graduating from college from the College Creative Studies in Detroit, in 2011, she opened and currently operates a Tattoo studio based in Hamtramck. Dawn also maintains a vibrant art studio practice at H.A.T.C.H in Hamtramck and has shown work nationally at galleries such as La Luz de Jesus in LA, Milk Gallery in NY and Gristle Gallery in Brooklyn

DENZEL PALM Biography In 2015, Denzel Palm graduated with his BA in Communications Marketing from Western Michigan University. He also attended Alma College for one year during his four-year college career. During his time at Alma College, Denzel was captain of the Men’s Basketball Program. In 2019, Denzel started to explore other passions outside of basketball and art. He quickly fell in love with the ability to share a part of him through his work. A majority of work is made by acrylic.


JUAN MARTINEZ Biography Juan Martinez is a Detroit-based multidisciplinary artist with a current focus on creating functional kinetic Sculptures and community activation. Blending his passions as a scientific illustrator and a community organizer. Juan creates sculptures that live and work among us, drawing from his experience as a science illustrator and a fabricator working with metal, wood, and other materials. His work has been exhibited at Art Basel Miami, public and community.

KIRK KODA Biography Kirk Roda is a Detroit area sculptor who currently lives in Oxford, Michigan. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University where he received a Fellowship to earn his Master’s Degree in Sculpture. His sculpture reflects his interest in satire and surrealism with a dash of elegant classical influence thrown in for good measure. He juxtaposes natural elements by using found objects, steel, clay, and polymers to create rhythmic compositions that convey feelings of whimsy....

MAKAILAH ROCK Biography Makailah Rock is a 20-year-old Michigan-based multimedia artist who is currently attending College for Creative Studies in Detroit, specializing in painting. She has always had a passion for art and was introduced to art by her father at a young age. She was constantly abstracting her close friends and family members as a child and brought out their noticeable features. She brings her stories to life with abstracted figures and objects, and uses an array of color.

MARLO BROUGHTON Biography Born in Detroit, Marlo Broughton is a painter that has been involved in the local creative scene since 2007. After studying industrial design at Wayne State, he joined the creative group FINALLY FAMOUS, whose core collective helped to propelled Big Sean’s indie career, Marlo and his collaborative partner Tommey Walker created all of Big Sean’s graphic works.Broughton works with several of Detroit creative galleries.

MIKE ROSS Biography Mike Ross is a painter and curator in the Detroit area. He graduated from Oakland University in 2003 with a degree in Anthropology and Studio Art. He has been exhibiting regularly in galleries and other venues throughout Michigan since 2010, mostly in the Detroit area. Since 2014, he has In the last several years he has also worked as a muralist, and his large-scale work can be found on exterior and interiors.

NAKIA CAMP BiographyNakia Camp is a Detroit-based fine artist who works primarily with oil paint. She earned her Associate of Arts degree at Henry Ford College in Dearborn, MI. Shortly after graduation, she began working as a full-time artist after spending many years working in corporate settings. NANCY WANCHIK Biography With artworks in collections throughout the United States, Canada and Europe, Nancy Wanchik is a professional artist specializing in mixed media collages using newspaper, tissue paper, watercolor, and ink. She is based in the Metro-Detroit area and is influenced by Detroit’s vibrant fine, street and graffiti art scenes. “I want my artwork to talk to you, for you to connect and create a story around it. SHEEDO MAGNETO Biography Born as Rashard Montgomery on a U.S. Military installation. Sheedo is a Detroit street artist creating group and solo exhibitions in galleries across the country. His love for graffiti was started at a very young age living in Europe and from there it has been a drive to master whatever form of visual art he had access to. As an adult, years of night life experience gained him access to Detroit’s underworld street/urban art inner circles honed his skills.

YOUNGEST WAFFLE Biography Painting abstracts since he 14 years old, his works are usually centered around cats, fish, and people. Youngest Waffle has had multiple shows around Metro Detroit over the years. He use paint on canvas or wood as his media. Artist Statement For your show I would like to incorporate bees and their honeycomb and how bees are connected to humans in a painting.… Bees play a major role in our lives as the foundation of our survival.
